A report by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) has shown that workloads in the construction sector for the first quarter of 2013 have revealed the most positive start to the year since 2008.
Interestingly, Northern Ireland's construction sector continues to lag considerably behind that of the rest of the UK.
Rics Northern Ireland construction spokesman Jim Sammon said: "Finance is constrained, private sector activity remains scarce and public sector demand remains constrained," adding that for this reason many companies are looking outside of Northern Ireland for work.
Nevertheless, the findings revealed that for the rest of the UK, workloads increased by ten per cent, which is extremely positive news for all those working in the sector - from builders and workmen to consultants and those in construction sales jobs.
Simon Rubinsohn, Rics chief economist, said it appears that government efforts to bolster the sector appear to be slowly but surely having a positive effect on the industry.
The Aaron Wallis Construction and M&E sales team offers many construction sales roles across the sector. For employers, Aaron Wallis offers a construction sales recruitment service that offers 12-month rebate and psychometric profiling within a single fixed recruitment price.
