Technical Field Sales Engineer

Technical Sales Engineer, Hybrid sales role based from HQ in Merseyside & Field-Based. £40,000 + Performance Bonus, Pension & Comprehensive Benefits. We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Technical Sales Engineer who thrives on translating complex engineering requirements into tangible realities. Based out of a specialist hub in St Helens, this is not a "scripted" sales role; our client is looking for a problem-solver to serve as the technical heartbeat of their commercial process. This hybrid position is designed for an engineer who enjoys the dynamic shift between high-level system architecture and hands-on site evaluations, acting as the vital bridge between engineering excellence and a diverse global client base.

The Role of Technical Sales Engineer

As the Technical Lead for the sales cycle, the successful candidate will take full ownership of the technical journey. This involves more than just quoting; you will be responsible for designing viable system architectures for land and marine applications, delivering immersive product demonstrations at a dedicated facility, and providing the commercial team with the precise specifications needed to win major tenders. The role extends directly into the field, where you will conduct site visits to troubleshoot challenges and ensure seamless project handovers, while also representing the brand at major industry trade shows.

What is Required to apply to the Role of Technical Sales Engineer

* A technically literate professional, ideally holding an HNC, HND, or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
* You should bring a proven track record in technical sales, applications engineering, or high-level technical support, with a sharp ability to interpret complex drawings and schematics.
* Because you will be explaining intricate concepts to a variety of stakeholders, your interpersonal skills must be as refined as your technical knowledge.
* A willingness to travel for customer visits and site support is essential.
