The Opportunity

We're a thriving, well-established furniture business supplying schools, nurseries, early years settings and offices right across the UK. We've grown to £12 million turnover and we're expanding by around 20% every single year - but we've deliberately kept our team small and tight-knit at just 23 people. Here, when you win, everyone knows about it, and the work you do genuinely matters.

We're now looking for a Customer Development Executive to help drive that growth even further.

The Role

This is warm, consultative phone sales - not cold calling. Every lead is an existing customer who's already bought from us, so your job is to build the relationship, spot the next opportunity and grow the account.

You'll be:

* Managing a busy portfolio of 250+ existing customers, prioritising your time for the best results
* Calling recent buyers to explore upsell, cross-sell and product-awareness opportunities
* Running friendly, consultative conversations with managers and decision-makers
* Closing orders typically worth £1,000-£10,000 within a quick 1-4 week sales cycle
* Handling pricing, VAT and margin calculations, and keeping sharp records on our CRM
* Reviving dormant accounts and deepening the relationships you look after

It's high-energy and high-activity - but it's all about rapport and solutions, never hard-sell tactics.

About You

* At least 1 year of phone-based sales or customer development experience
* A confident, warm phone manner and a natural relationship-builder
* Someone who thrives on activity and knows how to turn a warm lead into a closed order
* Comfortable with basic numeracy and Excel (full training given on our systems)
* Organised, punctual and coachable
* A full driving licence and your own vehicle - public transport links to our site are limited
