Head of Marketing Consumer Goods Manufacturer

Basic Salary to £65k,

90k Package Including Bonus, Fully Expensed Executive Car/allowance, Life Assurance, Pension

Required Living Location - Within 1 hour of St Albans

Due to significant reinvestment, they are looking to add a Head of Marketing to their successful Senior Management team. Working closely with the Managing Director your role will be wide ranging and diverse, seeking out new business opportunities within existing and prospective customers, both in the UK and overseas, driving key accounts and managing and growing the sales and customer service team.

You will be experienced at managing marketing teams within a consumer goods environment and will intuitively understand and relish the challenges and opportunities inherent to working in a creative and rapidly evolving, manufacturing business.

You will bring structure and process improvements to the marketing function and possess the interpersonal and emotional intelligence to implement these, over time, in collaboration with colleagues.

Language skills are ideal but not essential, however experience of managing projects and collaborating with colleagues in overseas territories is highly advantageous.

Core Activities:

* Implementation of global strategy and frameworks according to the local business situation;
* Planning and execution of the marketing plan and activities including KPI measurement and analytics for continuous data-driven decision taking and improvement;
* Stop/Change/Start - transform the local marketing to a holistic, sell-out focused business driver;
* Developing and implementing a national marketing plan that addresses different regional and customer requirements in terms of product, marketing support, sales channels and distribution requirements and constraints, in addition to supporting the growth of the brand;
* Developing and implementing new product launch strategies and programs; Developing and implementing national and regional advertising campaigns, annual media plan and plan, create and distribute Company press releases;
* Planning and implementing public relations and customer communications programs;
* In collaboration with Product Manager, providing input and analysis on new product identification and development based on periodic assessment of market trends, competitor trends and opportunities;
* Development and distribution of marketing and sales support materials, including catalogues/brochures, promotional sales sheets, merchandising and point of sale materials, displays and exhibits, flyers, promotions materials, sales force communications and tools (including both physical and electronic material;
* Designing, developing and implementing account, channel or product specific promotions;
* Developing and implementing processes to coordinate and manage all trade shows and exhibitions and assist in key sales events;
* Support National Sales Manager with specific marketing issues related to key accounts and in the provision of digital marketing materials needed to effectively manage the e retail channel;
* Develop and maintain processes that ensure effective ongoing relationships with senior marketing executives in key accounts



Person Specification:

* Minimum 8-10 years' marketing experience;
* Degree in marketing/business and marketing
* Knowledge of the consumer goods sector
* Able to coach, mentor and develop winning teams and is a role model leader, with high social, intercultural competence;
* Expertise in customer experience management and lead generation/management; additional sales experience would be advantageous;
* Pronounced sense of responsibility paired with 'hands on' and 'can do' mentality.
