Head of Sales, Technology and Technical Consulting Services, circa £90,000 Basic Salary, £135,000 OTE + full executive benefits package. A board-level role for a Sales Director / Head of Sales to join the senior leadership team of a well-established provider of technology services into engineering disciplines. This long-term career opportunity requires a proven sales and marketing leader that can bring fresh ideas, leadership capabilities and the ability to transform a technically biased reactive sales group into a proactive commercial sales team.

What you will do

Reporting to the CEO, you will be at the apex of the commercial function of a multi-million T/O business that is recognised as a frontrunner in its field. You will lead the whole commercial strategy, and your remit is primarily threefold:

1) You will create, deliver and execute the sales strategy for the next decade, including defining and refining the service and product proposition to clients.

2) You will manage a team of fifteen commercially led staff and improve their efficiency and effectiveness via objective performance measures. The team includes field sales, sales support, marketing, including marketing research and marketing intelligence, and bids/tender staff. As it is a vast myriad of role types with differing objectives, you will be a brilliant leader that naturally inspires and manages and measures individuals on a 1:1 basis to get the best from them.

3) You will seamlessly execute your sales and marketing strategy for the business and deliver significant year upon year profit growth.

While an overused term these days, we are looking for a transformational leader that can take an already successful business to the next level.

What is required

* A proven sales and marketing leader that has a measurable and proven successful track record in service-based consultancy sales.

* You will probably be a graduate with at least five years people-management experience that has validated their knowledge and expertise with something like an MBA or other Masters level business or marketing qualifications.

* Your CV will demonstrate someone passionate about continuous learning and leveraging new technologies to deliver annual sustainable business growth.

* You are expected to have immediate gravitas and be quickly able to make an impact upon the business by installing proactive team-culture changes and implement practical measurements of lead generation, client relationship management, pricing and margin sustainability. Also, you are expected to quickly formalise how individual team members are measured to develop and retain talent in the team.

* You will be insightful, data-driven and able to build KPI's that facilitate performance excellence

* As a person you will have a dedicated and focused approach yet be warm, engaging, approachable, professional, inspiring, highly self-motivated and personable. In summary, you will be the kind of person that has found throughout their career that people are happy to be led by them.

Also, we are looking for proven operators, not 'job-hoppers', so your CV should demonstrate logical career growth and facts and stats on how you have taken businesses and teams to their next level.

What are the rewards?

* Circa £90K Basic salary and an uncapped bonus scheme based upon team profitability, sales income growth and agreed personal metrics.

* You are expected to be part of the senior management team that will execute a MBO from the current shareholders.
