Internal Business Development Manager, Software Solution Sales,--Cambridge

Internal Business Development Manager, Software Solution Sales, Cambridge, £28,000 to £32,000 Basic Salary, £48K OTE plus benefits. Based from the Cambridgeshire HQ, this is a fascinating internal sales role that unusually does not require previous IT or software industry experience. It is ideal for a consultative and engaging sales professional with at least a year's business to business sales experience looking for a break into the IT sector and a more involved and progressive role. Should you desire your career to move in this direction, the plan will be for you to progress more into field sales as your skills and knowledge develop.

This internal sales role is with a leading provider of bespoke software into industries as diverse as retail, telecoms, aerospace, automotive, financial services, travel and rail. Leads are provided by the telesales team that spark the initial interest in the software solutions. Your role is to follow these up and network through the various stakeholders and get the conversation and relationship to the point where they require one of your technical team to talk technically and scope out the specific requirement.

To apply, previous software sales experience is not required, however:

* You must be intelligent, resilient, naturally persuasive, intrinsically motivated and wanting to learn.

* You will have at least a year's business to business sales experience and looking for a role where you can develop and increase your earning potential.

* You will be well organised, commercially strong and highly credible over the 'phone.

* You will have commercially imaginative with excellent research skills and be used to using things like LinkedIn to your advantage.

* As a person, you will be outgoing, honest, enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player who is flexible and willing to get involved in areas outside of this remit, when required.

* You will be healthily assertive with a natural ability to connect at senior levels and be a self-starter.

The role is winning high valued contracts to deliver expert bespoke software that solve specific problems to make your clients more efficient and profitable. The client retention rates are close to 100%, and you are backed by great case studies in the target markets to justify your expertise in these niches. The software delivery is sold as Software as a Service, or SaaS, to include warranty and ongoing maintenance, and typically clients are contracted to 3 years. Therefore, this model makes securing high-cost bespoke software solution sales more compelling as there is not a massive upfront capital investment.

The position is business development and account development, i.e. many of the clients are part of larger group companies so you will be tasked to network across your existing contacts to forge further relationships with key decision makers in other group companies.
