BlackBerry 10 models ship 1m units

In a nod to the popularity of its most recent model, BlackBerry has announced that it shipped around one million units of the brand new BlackBerry 10 models in the final quarter of 2012.

Overall, the phone manufacturer shipped around six million smartphone units, as well as approximately 370,000 PlayBook tablets.

BlackBerry mobiles have long proved extremely popular with firms as choice company phones, as many features have been designed with business usage in mind. This means that anybody looking to invest in a new device from which to carry out their work duties may like to consider one of the BlackBerry 10s, as the figures demonstrate their success on the market so far.

Officially released on January 31st, BlackBerry 10s take the form of two different models for people to choose from - namely, the Z10 and Q10. The former boasts a 4.2-inch touchscreen similar to Apple's iPhones and Samsung's Galaxy S devices, while the latter operates a 3.1-inch screen and physical keypad similar to older models, for those who prefer to have keys as opposed to tapping on a screen.
